David, along with his wife Debi, were former owners of a graphic design and production studio based in UK. He decided to retire early to escape the day to day hassles of business life and live out his dream to live abroad in a quiet location and enjoy good weather and sunshine. This has been achieved but having led such a busy existence the need to work at something became a driving force for David to develop his creative and marketing skills through the lens of his camera. Land photography had always been a hobby, particularly when traveling abroad but when he began diving in 1998 the challenge became apparent and the quest to photograph underwater began. In hindsight (always the best way to look at things) he should have attended workshops with a professional - this was his big mistake and held him back for a long time and now always urges newcomers to learn from the best and fast track your ability. On one such dive trip David met Stephen Wong and his wife Takako - legends in underwater photography. Stephen had asked to look at his work and recommended that he should start entering competitions as he considered his work more than adequate. All of a sudden the project he had been waiting for unfolded and at the end of 2008 he won his first competition. Since then David has been fortunate to win or be placed in many competitions around the world which now has led him in 2010 to work with dive magazines to produce articles and supply images. David believes that other opportunities will come his way and together with his wife they will develop their skills in what is now their passion.
