Information
Phyllidiella striata is generally long and thin with broken pink crests of tubercles along the back. Usually, there are two small ridges diagonally behind the rhinophores and a small ring around the anus where they meet. There are variations in which the ridges become continuous, but the general effect is tubercles in small lines, three down the centre of the back and one or two usually single but may be doubled following the edge of the mantle. The mantle edge is pink. The ground colour is black, and usually there is more black than pink. The rhinophores are jet black. It is very common in the Maldives. -- Nathalie Yonow
