Information

Comment from expert, Alexander Martynov: Murman coast of the Barents Sea is northernmost limit of the distribution of this species. Prior to our recent findings within the Polar circle, northern records of this species were based only on quite old data from Norway not far to North than 63°N. Embletonia pulchra is an aberrant species and adapted for living within coarse sand and gravel. A tropical congener, Embletonia gracilis Risbec, 1928 considerably differs from Embletonia pulchra by long body and divided cerata.
