In the beginning of February 2004, Vinny went from Bali to Gili Air Lombok for 5 days to take an open water course. He ended up staying for 5 weeks. He loved it that much and was amazed at the coral and the pure variety of species especially nudibranchs which Vinny was blown away by the colours of them. During his advanced open water course, he did a photography dive as one of the extra dives and was hooked.
