Vinicius Padula is a Brazilian marine biologist who is studying nudibranchs since the beginning of his undergraduate studies, 2003. Bachelor in Marine Biology and M.Sc. in Zoology by the Rio de Janeiro Federal University, Brazil, Vinicius has as main interests taxonomy, biogeography and evolution of nudibranchs. He collaborates also in studies of polyclad flatworms. His research is more focused in tropical western Atlantic fauna, including Bermuda, the Caribbean Sea and Brazil, region studied mostly between 1950-80 decades and still with huge gaps of knowledge. Currently, Vinicius is investigating cryptic species complexes, as part of his PhD study at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. As an active diver and enthusiastic of underwater photography, he has participated in many expeditions, including Costa Rica, Brazil, Azores and the Mediterranean Sea.
