He's from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia working in Sabah. Only did his OWD September 2008 in Sabah so he considers himself a newbie in terms of diving. He did it not because he wanted to but had to get an activity for his visiting sister. After the OWD course, as usual with most divers ,he got severely hooked and was a dive junkie. As Sabah is blessed by abundant natural gifts, it was easy for him to take up diving as the sea was just a stones throw away and could be done everyday as there is no "off" season. He always laughed at UW photographers with their clumsy DPV sized cameras till it came back and slapped him really hard in the face.
He got himself an Olympus Stylus 1030SW for the OWD as a casual camera for taking photos for the duration of the course and as a "RUGGED" camera. Its proven itself in so many ways (even bringing it to 15M when its rated for 10m without UW casing!!!) and taking tonnes of great shots. But as most things in diving goes, it just felt inadequate without much manual modes. Then came the Canon G10 at about March 2009, was a real shocker to the details it could capture. With such details come a bit of a learning curve. His current passion is macro and abstract shots in and out of water. He's still fascinated by the nudibranchs as they looked like little "Dragons" UW.
The owner of the dive centre which is a great Diving Guru, that brings him out complains about the hours he'd spend on just a few specimens in the water!!! He's still learning the camera and would appreciate comments... good or bad.
