Eddy started in 2005 with diving when he was on a holiday in Hurghada (Egypt). There he gets his diving lessens by Voodoo Divers from Ingrid Smit, one of the owners from this fantastic diving school. She did give him the dive virus and till now it never get away. After he did come back in Holland he bought his own diving equipment and went back in a month to Voodoo Divers in Egypt to proceed his diving education. In April 2007 he did his PADI Instructor Examines and he got it with excellent results and was from that day PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Since June 2005 he made a lot of dives in Egypt, Maldives, Spain, Germany, Belgium and of course in Holland his home country. From his first confrontation with a Nudibranch in Egypt he did know that these animals gets his interest. This interest in nudibranch did give him already one year later in Egypt the nickname “Nudimaster’! When he is diving it’s always head down to the reef and searching for nudibranches. In April 2008 he followed the distinctive PADI Specialty “Sea Slug & Sea Snails” as a instructor by a Course Director in Holland. Now he may give this PADI specialty to other people who have the same interest he haves “Nudibranch”. Before he goes in 2006 for a holiday to the Maldives he decided to buy his own camera. He bought a Sea & Sea DX-8000G and he is still diving with that same camera. He hopes to buy soon a external strobe to make even more nicer pictures. Another interesting he has are the colorful geckos from Madagascar and nearby islands. These animals called Phelsuma’s he breeds them at home, write articles about them, translate books about them and give presentations over this animals. When he was on 3 weeks expedition in 2003 on Madagascar he was there when they discovered a brand new specie: Phelsuma kely. One day he hopes that he will have the same experiences but then on a nudibranch specie. This hobby is under a lot of pressure and therefore reduced the last years because he is now diving day and night on his search to his own “Chromodoris phelsuma”.
