"This name is presently given to populations from southern Africa that have a narrow orange marginal band and very vivid white stripes. However, it appears to intergrade with, and is probably the same as, Chromodoris quadricolor from the northwestern Indian Ocean (far greater external variation is allowed for other members of the black-striped colour group of Chromodoris). More individuals need to be examined to test if the supposed differences in radular teeth between these species are really consistent."
